A little wear to extremities and stain on lower edge; otherwise a very good clean copy. 1910 and another early signatures on half title and and a few early ink notes on verso of title, extending to preface. Illustrated by 106 engraved text figures. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. Extensive survey of the colour manufacture industry which produced pigments, paints dyes and other colouring materials. The main sections cover the artificial mineral colours, the raw materials used in colour-making, the natural mineral (earth) colours, organic colours (lake pigments) and the uses of colours. First published as Handbuch der Farbenfabrikation (1906) by Georg Zerr and Robert Rubencamp and translated from the German and edited by Charles Mayer. A very scarce text.
