One or two very small marginal tears repaired and some old marginal creases none of which effect the images which are clean and fresh and in excellent condition.
STUNNING ORIGINAL DRAWINGS OF FLEMISH MASTERS

1809 - 1811.
The subjects are 1; van dyck, 2; rembrant, 3; peter paul rubens, 4;david tenier, 5;jean kupetsky or kupecký, 6;jacques jordaens, 7;tete paul potter, 8;gerard douw, 9; adriaen brouwer, 10;philipp roos, 11;adrien van der werf or werff, 12; saint jerome; and three striking studies from famous paintings.
BLACK AND COLOURED CHALK ON LAID WATERMARKED PAPER, EACH SIGNED AND DATED in ink, with an ELABORATE FRENCH calligraphic style title in ink. Flamboyant and confident portraits which have great charm and presence, the size and delicate colouring give them great decorative quality.
I cannot discover any references the B. Bevier which is odd given the competence of the work. The portraits are mostly derived from their own famous self portraits but the same scale has been adopted, by B. Bevier making them life size which increases their impact, and forming a harmonious group. Jan Kupecký is derived from the painting by Bernhard Vogel; Paul Potter derived from the painting by Bartholomeus van der Helst; Adriaen Van Der Werff is derived from an engraving by Houbraken.
