Illustrated by black and white photographs, including aerial and by facsimiles and maps, including frontispiece. Winchelsea Beach emerged as a village settlement only after the First World War. This history of the area includes defensive works like Camber Castle, Rye Harbour and its Nature Reserve, sea defences, old buildings, settlement after 1918, etc.
