A detailed catalogue of books published by the Aldine Press in Venice, 1495-1597, and held in the Special Collections of the University of California, Los Angeles. The Press was founded by Aldus Manutius (c.1450-1515) and continued by his heirs and successors. It issued a magnificent edition of the classics and is noteworthy for its introduction of italic script, to imitate handwriting, and of the easily portable octavo size of book.
